Culley Wilson

Hometown:  Emory, Texas

Occupation:  Sales in the integrated animal health industry and owner of Wild Wing Adventures.

Areas of Hunting Expertise:  Waterfowl & Big Game

Favorite Method of Hunting:  Decoying late season geese and mallards in the swamps and spot and stalk hunting of big game.

Culley Wilson was born in Dallas, Texas in May of 1972.  He moved to NC in 1999 with his job and he now lives in Hampstead, NC.  His father, being a professional fishing guide, introduced him to the outdoors at a very early age.  It was when he was a young teenager that his passion for waterfowl and bow hunting consumed him.  Growing up in East Texas in a one buck county he quickly took to waterfowl hunting to fill the remainder of the hunting season.  He is a self taught waterfowl hunter and his years of trial and error hunting have made him a successful waterfowl guide today.

Growing up on Lake Fork between the Central and Mississippi flyways in East Texas, there was an abundance of waterfowl to hunt.  When he moved to NC in 1999 he found himself frustrated by not finding consistent flights of ducks in the Piedmont area of the state.  To harvest a limit of puddle ducks was truly an accomplishment.  So, he taught himself how to hunt Canada Geese being there was good resident population as well as a good migration of Canada Geese.  After trial and error, he honed his skills and was fast becoming a seasoned goose hunter.   His friends eventually talked him into guiding and Wild Wing Adventures was born.  Today he guides for ducks, geese, swans, and big coastal black bears.

The outdoors is his passion and we hope you can experience some time in the field with him.  Whether your're hunting bears or waterfowl, Culley gives 100% every time.

Brad Burton

Hometown:  Beaufort, NC

Occupation:  Charter Boat Mate

Areas of Hunting Expertise: Scouting and field hunting pressured Canada Geese.

Favorite Method of Hunting:  Shooting diver and sea ducks from a layout boat.

Brad Burton was born in Hillsborough, North Carolina were he was first introduced to hunting  and fishing by his grandfather as they spent every weekend together either chasing rabbits or fishing for catfish.   While the prey and locations may have changed throughout the years the strong desire to be in the woods or on the water is still unwavering.   Whether Brad is hunting mallards in the fields of North Dakota with his lab Dixie or divers over his spread of hand carved decoys in eastern NC there is little mistaking his enthusiasm for the sport.  Brad currently lives in Beaufort , NC and when he is not hunting waterfowl he earns his living chasing marlin, tuna, and other game fish as a mate on a charter boat  in Morehead City.

Tom Hughes

Hometown:  Merry Hill, NC

Occupation:  Owner/Operator H&H Excavation

Areas of Hunting Expertise:  Calling puddle ducks down through the timber

Favorite Method of Hunting:  Shotgun and feathers

Tom Hughes was born in Bertie County, NC in May of 1973.  His home town is centered in the game rich Roanoke and Chowan River basin area.  He literally cut his teeth in the outdoors while riding in a car seat with his father deer hunting.  Tom killed his first deer at the young age of six.  He and his father are accomplished hunters and consistently take trophy bucks each year.  Tom is also a very skilled turkey hunter and fools the weariest of birds year after year.  He began turkey hunting late in life being there were no turkeys to hunt in his youth but has had no problems figuring out the thunder chickens of the East.  At the age of sixteen Tom began waterfowl hunting and has been hooked ever since.  Tom has a lot of experience hunting the black water cypress swamps as well as the rivers which feed the Albemarle Sound.  This vast experience is what makes him a top guide and why we are proud to have him at Wild Wing Adventures.

Josh Pelletier

Hometown:  La Grange, NC

Occupation:  Biologist

Areas of Hunting Expertise:  Divers in open water & puddle ducks in the marsh

Favorite Method of Hunting:  Hunting hidden potholes in the marsh for puddle ducks

Josh Pelletier’s roots grow deep into eastern North Carolina history.  With strong ties to the coast and the backwoods of North Carolina, Josh spent his time roaming the woods and riding the waters of this outdoorsman’s paradise.  Josh accredits his love for the outdoors to his father Jake, who passed down the love for hunting and fishing at a very early age.  Josh began waterfowl hunting on the waters of the Pamlico Sound at the age of 12 and by age 16 was guiding other hunters on the waters that he called home.

After receiving an Environmental Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Josh was blessed with a job that allows him to enjoy the outdoors.  As a biologist for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Josh is in the field the majority of his time which allows him to take note of wildlife movement and patterns throughout the year.  Whether it’s cornfields for geese, swamps for mallards, wild turkeys in April to tundra swans in late January, Josh considers it a blessing just to be able to enjoy the outdoors.

Together with his retriever, Bo, Josh hunts ducks and geese almost daily during the season.  With the birds circling over head and his best buddy Bo looking toward the sky, Josh feels most as home calling ducks in the tall timber and looks forward to sharing his passion of waterfowl hunting for many seasons to come.  Josh’s vast experience hunting waterfowl and putting people in the meat makes us proud to have him as part of the Wild Wing Adventure team.

Cullen Ports

Hometown:  Raleigh, NC

Occupation:  Construction Materials Sales

Areas of Hunting Expertise:  Hunting late season pressured mallards

Favorite Method of Hunting:  Field hunting waterfowl from a layout blind

Cullen is a proud native to the Piedmont of North Carolina.  Cullen is fortunate to have witnessed numerous duck seasons come and go from an early age.  He began hunting at the early age of six, tromping around beaver ponds and swamps with is father.  Cullen was born with waterfowling in his blood.  In fact, Cullen's father asked the doctor if his new baby boy had webbed feet.  It’s evident in Cullen’s demeanor that his father’s love and respect for the sport and heritage of waterfowling has been passed on.  Cullen was taught the importance of identifying waterfowl, calling, and scouting from his father throughout their years of hunting together.

When Cullen turned 16 and was able to drive he became a fanatic about hunting and specifically waterfowl hunting.  Throughout high school and college, Cullen stayed on the road during the waterfowl season chasing ducks and geese from the mountains to the coast.  He began attending waterfowl shows and scouting more and more in hopes of learning all he could about why ducks and geese behave the way they do.  Cullen currently lives north of Raleigh with his yellow lab, Scout.  Cullen is a dispatcher for a construction materials company located in the RDU area.  When Cullen is not at work he is working with his dog Scout or practicing his calling in preparation of the coming season.  Cullen brings a great deal of waterfowling knowledge to the table, but more importantly he has the ability to share and pass it on to our clients in a friendly and professional manner.  Wild Wing Adventures is glad to have this eager young man on their team.
